WHO WE ARE

What to Expect at The Cure Church

The Cure Church is a non-denominational church. We believe in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit and understand that the church was birthed with His presence falling on the disciples in Acts 2. We strive to be a church that moves out of His presence every single day.

At each service you can expect a time of worship, a relevant message that is always aimed at pulling God’s people away from conforming to the culture around us, and into the Kingdom.

The main service isn’t the only group that worships and has a relevant message, our Cure Kids ministry is open both services on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

Our Values

We hold 10 Core Values that drive and define our culture:

Presence, Hard Conversations, Creativity, Authenticity, Evangelism, Honor, Effort, Health, Discipleship and Generosity.

These values are pulled from deep concepts and values that are in the scriptures and we believe that God’s word directs the best paths that we could ever take. These values aren’t meant to just hang on wall for us to see, but they’re meant to define what we truly value in our day to day lives.

How Did We Get Here?

In 2018, our pastors, Steve and Toni McCleary planted our church after being sent to Lawrence by our Apostolic covering, Pastors Kelly and Esther Lohrke of The Cure Kansas City. The Cure Church has a Network of churches across the country. (Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Leavenworth, Grandview, Blue Springs, St. Louis, Chicago, Nashville, Omaha, Ashland, Arkansas, Wichita, Houston, and Orlando.)

Our network lives and breathes discipleship. While all of our network pastors could have stayed in the Kansas City location and made up one massive church, we believe in planting churches all across the world. Our mindset for the last 30+ years has been to win one, build one, send one.
